Amazing Alaska!

I have often been asked which cruise is my favorite and I have to say that it is Alaska-hands down! This destination is absolutely amazing! Getting to explore this beautiful state via a Disney Cruise just adds extra Magic to the whole experience! The Disney Wonder departs from the Port of Vancouver on most Mondays, May through September. We love to stay at the Pan Pacific hotel located directly above the port. Just a quick elevator ride down to the port in the morning to board the ship and begin your Magical Alaska Voyage!

The first day you will enjoy a relaxing day at sea watching movies in the theater, taking part in onboard activities for all ages, followed up with a gourmet dinner in one of the themed dining rooms and ending the evening with a Broadway style show. The next day you will slowly enter the Dawes Glacier, seated on the top deck with a blanket, hot chocolate and cookies with Mickey and Minnie by your side! A naturalist will narrate the journey through this amazing glacier. You can even book a small boat excursion to get an even closer view of the glacier and abundant wildlife.

The first port will be Skagway where you can take a tour into the Yukon via the White Pass Train or motor coach, pan for gold, or even go dog sledding! The second stop is Alaska's capital city, Juneau. This stop has so many amazing excursions that your best bet will be to book a combination tour. The Mendenhall Glacier is a must see. This glacier is stunning and can easily be viewed via walking trails from the visitor center. Wildlife are also prevalent, so watch out for porcupines and bears! This is also the best port to go whale watching and enjoy a tasty salmon bake. You will probably notice that this city is home to quite a few eagles. You will see them throughout the city, so, have your cameras ready.

The last port is the beautiful town of Ketchikan. You will actually dock alongside the city center, so, you can definitely explore some of the amazing artisan stores that line this port on your own. Some of the more popular excursions are the Misty Fjords flight or boat tour, the sea crab fisherman's tour, the lumberjack show or the Rainforest Sanctuary-where you can hike through or zipline over the sanctuary. Don't miss out on viewing the abundant wildlife or the beautiful totem park that can be found in this port!

Your final day is a relaxing day at sea! Treat yourself to a spa treatment or watch a newly released movie in the theater on deck 5. Don't forget to make your final purchases in the gift shop as the store will not be open when you dock in Vancouver. If you are not exploring Vancouver, the easiest way to get to the airport is to book a Disney transfer. Just a quick elevator ride down to the port and your Disney motorcoach will return you safely to the airport. Interested yet? Don't delay booking as Disney just released their 2022 schedule and some dates are already selling out!
