Disney Genie coming 10/19!

Disney recently announced that they will be retiring their FastPass system and introducing a multi-tiered Genie System coming our way on 10/19! The basic Genie System will "Magically" appear in your My Disney Experience Account on 10/19 and will include a personalized tip board with forecasted future wait times, a virtual assistant, the ability to place mobile orders, join waitlists and check-in at restaurants, and access to virtual queues, at no additional cost! This complimentary service will streamline the current system and bring even more fun and helpful features to your app!

The second level of Genie Service is called Genie+ and can be added to existing and new Disney Resort Packages or stand alone park tickets beginning on 10/19. This "+" service will allow guests to select the next available wait time to more than 40 attractions throughout all four Disney Theme Parks. Guests will also receive the ability to take and immediately access augmented reality photos and access Audio Tales with tips and Disney history at select attractions throughout the Parks. This service is $15 per person, per ticket and can be added to the tickets within your package for the entire length of your stay before you arrive. If you would like to only have this service on select days within your stay, it can be purchased at midnight the day your park reservation begins . You will definitely want to have this added prior to 7:00 am as this is when you will be able to access your first advance ride time! Once you have ridden your first ride, you can select an additional advance wait time. Or your app will notify you when you can come back to get an additional pass. These advance wait time selections are subject to availability throughout the day.

If you are staying off property and have theme park tickets only, you will be able to add the Genie+ service each day after midnight and then book your first wait time as soon as the park you are visiting is open.

The third level of Disney Genie Service is called Individual Attractions Selections. At 7:00 am, guests can purchase the first of up to two passes a day to use the Lightning Lanes at each park. You do not need to have the Genie+ Service to make these purchases. Prices will vary by attraction, park, and date. The current list of attractions available for this service is as follows:

Magic Kingdom-Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain

Epcot-Frozen Ever After and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure

Hollywood Studios-Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Animal Kingdom-Avatar, Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest

Please keep in mind that the Genie System is complimentary, the additional features are optional, paid, add-ons. Standby lines will remain in place for guests who choose not to purchase the additional features.
