The kickoff for the 18 month celebration marking the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Walt Disney World, was Magical indeed! If you have not visited recently, you definitely need to schedule a trip before March 2023! There are new fireworks shows in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, all four parks light up at night with an Earidescent glow and the Characters and Cast Members also have new Earidescent finery. Epcot also debuted the new Space 220 restaurant which has amazing views of space and an equally amazing menu! The new Remy's Ratatouille ride also opened to rave reviews. New celebratory merchandise is available in all four Parks and in Disney Springs and definitely not to be missed!
Additional Magic will be added throughout the next 18 months, including Moana inspired rooms at the Polynesian Resort and a new Incredibles theme at the Contemporary Resort. The new resort, Star Wars: A Galactic Star Cruiser Adventure will also open in March of 2022 with the booking window opening on 10/28. Guardians of the Galaxy and Tron will also open in 2022. Additionally, new technology will debut with the release of the new Genie and Genie+ system and enhanced Magic Bands.
Character Meet and Greets, more stage shows, and hopefully, dining plans will also be returning soon. It is definitely time to return to visit your old favorites and take in all of the amazing new additions. Earidescent Magic has arrived and is waiting for you at the Walt Disney World Resort!
